As of July 1, 2024, Florida law requires new and existing homeowners' association (HOA) board members to complete education and continuing education: 
New board members: Must complete a 4-hour certification course within 90 days of being elected or appointed. The certification is valid for four years. 
Existing board members: Must complete education within four years if they were elected or appointed before July 1, 2024. 
Continuing education: Directors must complete at least 4 hours of continuing education annually for HOAs with fewer than 2,500 parcels, and at least 8 hours annually for HOAs with 2,500 or more parcels.
